There is a button on the end of the gearshift lever...pressing it toggles the "O/D disabled" on and off.
why does the 1991 Lincoln towncars transmission not have overdrive?Instead of going into overdrive it seems to go into neutral. But if you take it out of overdrive and leave it in drive it never goes into neutral while I'm driving.
Overdrive is the normally allowed position on your 1993 Lincoln Town Car . It is the " fourth gear " of your automatic transmission that allows the engine to run at a lower RPM when you are on the highway / freeway You get better gas mileage and the transmission will run cooler , so it's a good thing
A 1995 Lincoln Town Car came from the factory with ( 5W-30 )
For a 2000 Lincoln Town Car : ( 71.9 litres / 19.0 U.S. gallons )
On my 1994 there is a button in the end of the gear shift arm. This turns off the overdrive and the dash says "Overdrive Off" above the odometer and gas mileage messages. Other than that, I don't know.
This isn't a question.
