For a few days, keep a food diary. Find out for yourselfwhen you overeat. It might be at the end of the day before you go to bed. This is the worst time to eat. You are putting fuel in a vehicle (your body) and then letting it rest. It isn't logical, right? Drink some water, have a lifesaver, and go to bed without eating that ice cream...or cereal.
A treadmill is boring! Get outside and take a walk. The walking itself will do more for you, and you will go farther if you have something to occupy your mind while your body moves. See if you can go Bowling. Once a week is a great routine buster, and it's great exercise. After you get used to walking a mile a day, try jogging a couple of yards. It breaks up the routine, and who knows? You might become a famous track star...but you'll never know if you don't start somewhere...walking. By the way, walking a mile takes 20 minutes. Not much time for all the benefits that it gives.
Never study, play Video Games, or watch TV with a snack. Water is the best thing to keep by your side. Studies have shown that there are no calories in the water...and it won't rust your teeth. Add a squeeze of lemon to it, or be hard core and drink it straight. Your body probably hasn't had that much hydration since you were a little kid. It's good for your kidneys, your heart, and your mind. Water rules...and it's nonfattening.
Don't worry too much about "being fat". Worry about getting fit. The weight will come off, but you really don't need to lose much. What you need to do is to develop the muscles that you have. Muscle burns more calories, so getting out and moving will make you feel better, and give you more confidence. You are at that stage when you will start growing pretty fast, and you need the nutrients that a healthy diet can give. Your height will catch up to your weight very soon, so don't obsess about a particular "ideal weight". You still have some growing to do.
Be concerned about getting your body ready for that growth spurt which will happen in about a year or so. To make the most of it, drink 2% milk for protein and less fat, eat veggies (oh yuck, right?), and lay off the chips and candy. It will take time, but with a food diary, a little discipline, and being careful about what you do, you will become stronger, more confident, and much taller!
Hang in there, buddy!
You will lose weight in the same way as anyone else: Burn more calories than you consume.
To this end, eat more meals of smaller size each day, and do more exercise- this will stimulate metabolism. You are far better off eating five small meals than two or three large ones, even if the total amount of calories consumed is the same.
Eat healthy foods. Quality is at least as important as quantity. Eliminate all artificial fats, MSG, corn syrup, preservatives, etc. Ideally, you will eat mostly organic grains and vegetables with some high-quality olive and flax oils.
Become knowledgeable about human nutrition and find what works for you. Some people do well on a vegan diet; some need meat. Many people do well with minimal animal products, like some eggs and dairy, in addition to a largely vegetarian diet.
Keep a food journal and record everything you eat. If you find that changing your diet brings up emotional issues, explore them as such, and find support for doing emotional work.
At 15, you can become and do anything you want. Get busy, and good luck.
hunny, dont worry. u are perfectly normal weight! if u lose anymore weight, you can make yourself become ill.
No. Your fine as you are at that weight. But it isn't really about age with weight, its about your height with your weight.
It has very little to do with how much "weight" you lose, it's strictly how much fat you lose to drop bmi. You could lose 5 lbs and remain at the same bmi if all you lose is water and muscle. Dropping bmi takes a calculated and delibrate diet and exercise routine. If you are 142 lbs and are at 10 percent, then that means you have approx 14lbs of fat on your body. If your goal is to drop 3 points, then you simply figure out what 7 percent of 142 is....approx 10. So if you were to drop about 4 pounds of fat while keeping your overall weight at 142 you should find yourself at 7 percent.
142
75/142 is already simplified.
You need to be 130-142 at most is those figures if you are over like in the 170's that is to much.
142-156 is the ideal weight
Maybe just a little. I wouldn't consider it over weight unless you were like 160
