Chances are that you will not be able to loose the weight you would like in the 12 days that you have. Also, weight is not what you should be worried about, your BMI (body mass index) is more important.
Anyways my suggestion would just be to wear the suit and don't listen to any negative comments that may be made towards you. (or if you wish, you can always take the negative comments and use them as motivation) But regardless or what someone says, don't let them put you in a bad mood.
If you really do want to loose weight, I would suggest eating healthfully (no soda or candy), and exercise. whether you jog, swim, go biking, play frisbee, Baseball, Basketball, tennis (my favorite). Just make sure that you get outside a be active. If you get bored of doing homework, walk around the block and then get back to work. At first you may not notice any results but keep it up and work hard, you will start to notice a difference.
Sorry if i seem like your parents but I know this from experience. About a year ago I was very unhappy with my appearance but i spent the summer playing tennis (in 120 degree heat, which, is not necessary) and riding my bike. Now I am very happy with how I look but continue to play and be active so that I may never again have to experience that low-level of fitness.
Good luck and remember that it will take time.
