No.
Yes. It means nothing in regard to being married (in the usual sense of the word) if worn on the right hand because wedding rings are always worn on the left...except by nuns. Probably it would be apparent to most people that you are not a nun, but you may get teased about it . People often wear rings of special sentimental value on the right hand...I'd do whatever suits you best.
why would you want to send out the wrong message if you are not married. Apparently now a days a married persons wears the wedding band in either hand. Better yet, if that ring has a special sentimental value, ask your dad to pass it on to you when you really actually get married.

If your married then seperate/divorce then you will remove your wedding ring if you want. Some people will continue to wear their rings on their ring finger (left) but there is no moving to the right unless you just decide on your own to wear in on your right. While married you wear your wedding band on your left finger - if for some reason that relationships dissolves then you do whatever it is you want with your wedding band. There is no ritual, law or special practice of "moving" your ring in the US/CAN - (other religions or countries may practice this but I wouldn't know as I have never heard of this)
* A boy does not receive an engagement ring like the girl; he would receive a wedding band when the couple get married. In the Western countries the wedding band is worn on the left hand (finger next to the little finger) and with European countries sometimes the wedding bands for both the bride and groom are worn on the right hand.
White diamonds would be a good choice for a mens wedding band.
Some married men wear a gold wedding band.
If he has a wedding ring then yes. If he has a wedding bracelet or necklace in it's place then they would be his wedding band. If it is a ritualistic tattoo, piece of clothing or (girls only) red dot on the forehead then they would not be considered wedding bands.

It is traditional to wear a wedding band on the forth left finger. Some European people wear their wedding bands on the right hand. If you want to wear your wedding band on a different finger then do so.
