I bought a new key for 92 Corvette at dealership and it appears to have same chip as older key that still works - the new key works for electrical functions but doesn't start car - anyone suggestions?

They probably chose the wrong value for the resistor in the key. I'd just go to a locksmith and get it done right the first time.
