at the end of the clutch cable remove nut from the top of that arm pull that arm off.
It is either worn out , glazed, or there is a fluid leak in the bell-housing , or clutch enclosure.
Dot 3 or Dot 4
A hydraulic clutch requires no adjustment, as it constantly adjusts itself.....if you are having problems getting into gear then check your fluid level and bleed the system, if the clutch is biting too high then its probably because the clutch is worn. If after checking the levels and bleeding you still have problems, then it could be a release bearing problem ..
First thing you need to do is, pull the front wheels off. Then you will need to remove the axals out of the transmission. Then you can pull the tranny and get to your clutch.
The 97 Tiburon doesnt have a clutch cable. It is hydrolic. Look on the right hand side of the motor directly on top of the transmission and you will see a cylinder about an inch and a half wide and 4 inches wide bolted down with 2 12mm bolts with a rod coming out of it that connects to a lever on the transmission. This is what controls your clutch!
it sounds like a bad throw out bearing or clutch plate. not a major deal it just starts to get louder but eventually you going to have to replace it when you do your next clutch job. chris
Check the clutch release bearing, and also loot at the clutch release arm. Whenever the clutch release bearing is not properly lubricated, (ON THE SURFACES OF CONTACT TO THE PRESSURE PLATE AND THE MAINSHAFT) then the metal drag will pull and cause the release bearings holding bracket to "sit and click" Let me know how it goes, stryker0086@cox.net (I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCEI HAVE AN 88 LEGEND COUPE THAT I HAVE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION ON)
If it is the clutch and not the transmission. The face of the clutch disc may have come off. Dumping the clutch too often can cause this, or can "just happen". It may be packed against the bell housing and hitting the pressure plate. Pressure plate may have lost a spring when the clutch went and it is hitting. You will know when it is taken apart.
The throwout bearing is bad. the throwout attaches to the clutch fork and presses into the clutch pressure plate when clutch is depressed. You will need to replace this and complete clutch assembly. Make sure that you have the flywheel turned while clutch is removed.
Unbolt the engine lift it up and turn it to the side where u see the tranny, unbolt the transmission, unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel, take the clutch out, when u put a new one in make sure to use a clutch allingment tool
Whenever you are having a problem with the clutch disengaging the engine from the transmission it is advisable to bleed the clutch slave cylinder. If the clutch can't be operated by bleeding the slave cylinder then the clutch master cylinder is gone and should be replaced.
