What could be causing transmission knocking in a 1990 suburban 2500 4x4 Knocking is in time with engine rpm?
Retribution, maybe. It is Macduff who is knocking. Conscience, possibly. Lady Macbeth says, "Hark, more knocking! Get on your nightgown lest occasion call us and show us to be watchers" Damnation, perhaps. That is the essence of what the Porter says: that the knocking is someone trying to get into Hell.
It depends on the kind of knocking.... I have had 2 vehicles with knocking. 1 was related to the heating system or ignition andould quit shortly after starting the car. The other vehicle which was a toyota 4 runner was in the engine. It also depends on how loud the knocking. May not be helpful but look into it.
are you sure the noise is coming from the transmission. most cars will make a knocking sound due to the lifters being a little stuck. to see if it is a lifter noise, at the net oil change use a qt of lucas oils. there will be one that says something about lifter noises on the front, found at any parts store
