In the latest edition of the book, "What To Expect When You're Expecting", this is what they say on page 141: "Really want to play the hCG numbers game? The following are ranges of "normal" hCG levels based on date. Keep in mind that anywhere in that wide range is normal-your baby doesn't have to be scoring off the charts for your pregnancy to be progressing perfectly-and that a slight miscalculation in your dates can throw the numbers off completely. Weeks Of Pregnancy: Amount Of hCG In mIU/L 3 weeks 5 to 50 4 weeks 5 to 426 5 weeks 19 to 7,340 6 weeks 1,080 to 56,500 7 to 8 weeks 7,650 to 229,000 9 to 12 weeks 25,700 to 288,000 If you use the information in that book that I've just copied here word for word, you will find that you are somewhere between 9 to 12 weeks pregnant. If the number your doctor gave you at the time was 39,474, just look at the chart above and you will see what I mean. Trust me, I understand what you are going through. When I found out I was pregnant, I was only 3 weeks! My hCG levels came back to the doctor as 13. "That's it?" I remember asking. "Yup" my doc confirmed. I wish my levels had come back like yours did. I was so disappointed when I heard the number 13. :) I was hoping for something higher, since I had read this beforehand and knew what levels indicated how far along I was. But happily, I am now almost 9 weeks pregnant! I can't wait. I hope this answered your question for you. P.S. If you can't go buy the book I mentioned here, just go to your nearest book store and stand around reading it until you get whatever answers from it that you want. It's technically okay to do that because you are just browsing, trying to see if you'd actually want to buy the book. If not, the internet is a great place for many accurate answers. Good luck! Hi, my name is Sara. I'm 21 and newly pregnant. Like you, I researched questions similar to yours on the Internet, but the answers were not specific enough to satisfy me. How did Germany become so powerful in World War 2?

The European powers, along with the United States, WANTED Germany to be the stronger force. The greater the enemy, the greater the glory. If the allies (Europeans) were to lose to Germany, there would be no loss of face. If they lost to an Asian power, such as Japan, it would have been un-bearable! Therefore, Germany was the stronger force in WW2. Some books have discussed this subject: "War Without Mercy: Power in the Pacific War." By John W. Dower (1987); ISBN 0-3947-5172-8; and "Eagle Against the Sun: The American War Against Japan." By Ronald Spector (1985); ISBN 0-39474-101-3. In reality, when comparing the two military nations, Japan had the stronger navy, and Germany possibly had the stronger army. Germany's "possible" rating for their army, is based upon the British and American habit of almost ALWAYS "Overestimating the Germans" simply because they wanted them to be superior to the Japanese. Remember...the greater the enemy, the greater the glory. And almost ALWAYS "Underestimating the Japanese." Who really had the stronger Army? Let's look at some facts, instead of "opinions." 1. Japan defeated Russia in a war (1904-1905)/France couldn't defeat Russia/Germany couldn't defeat Russia. 2. Japan never lost a war/Germany lost WW1. 3. Japanese Armies & Navies seldom if ever surrendered/German Armies & Navies often surrendered. 4. Japanese battleships engaged Russian battleships to the death at Tsushima in 1905/German Battleships fled at Jutland in 1916. 5. When engaged on an even keel (one on one) surface duel, the Japanese Navy usually defeated the US Navy, until all of Japan's veteran's were killed at Midway; then things began to reverse. One of the USN's worst defeats was at Savo Island in '42. As usual, the USN "Underestimated the Japanese (because they weren't Germans)" (Admiral Turner's report) and paid for it, by losing 3 US HEAVY Cruisers and 1 Australian HEAVY Cruiser during a surface engagement. There were no Japanese losses.
