I suggest getting a poodle, and if you want a small dog, then maybe a toy poodle. Poodles, against most generalizations, are smart, playful, and protective of their owners. They also do not shed. Another breed I suggest getting is maybe a Maltese or a Shih Tzu.
THanks but my family doesn't want a poodle but we might get a Shih Tzu or a golden retriever! thanks again

Breed of family
The breed of dog suggested for a loving family (you, your parents, and sister) depends on if you want a house dog or outside dog. If you want an outside dog, a German Shepherd would be a good breed. For an indoor dog, the English Bulldog is a good breed.
"Hypo-allergenic," although no dog or breed really is, but some are less troubling for some people with allergies. The Portuguese Water Dog breed that the First Family chose is known to cause less problems for most people with dog allergies.
This breed is one of the breeds in the molosser family.
No an American bulldog is not a dangerous breed not insured by American family insurance.
They're a working breed
I'm not sure but some people say you should or the baby guppies will breed.
The Cocker springer is a breed from the Spaniel family used for retrieving and flushing game. It is an excitable, affectionate breed with a life span of about fourteen years. The king Charles breed is also a dog from the spaniel family.
