I have a 1993 Dodge Spirit and I had to trickle charge the battery because it was almost dead. It starts now but the engine dies when I let off the gas. What could be the cause?

The computer may have forgotten how to maintain idle speed. Unhook the battery for 30 minutes and then try it.
