I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer and the gas gauge shows it has gas but I run out. Something about a gas sensor?

there is a sort of gas sensor located usually on the side of the fuel pump, or in a separate location in the fuel tank itself. there's a little float, similar to the inside of a toilet, the senses fuel levels and relays that information to the fuel gauge. mechanical experience needed to perform this on your own, but i recomend taking it to a shop. it should be reletively inexpensive.
