I have a dell Optiplex GX270 and i want to take a hard drive from this computer and put it in my Optiplex 745 but when i do it fits with an adapter it wont start up is there a way i can make it work?

Btw my Optiplex 745 does not support booting from a CD/DVD or floppy, only a usb or hard drive. the bios are also locked so you can see the problem, it also had a password for the admin and to start xp so i took the hard drive out a while ago and put it in an external enclosure and with my other CPU i have been trying to install windows on it, i finally put it inside my other CPU and tried installing windows on it again, it worked but when i put it in the other CPU it does not start up right anyone know how to make it start up in the optiple 745?
