I have a throwback Pomeranian as well. Tova's parents were between 7 and 9 pounds and the fact that genetically her size was influenced by a gene that rarely comes out resulted in her weighing 15 lbs. I was told that the gene is recessive so he would probably produce normal sized Poms.
i just bred my 12lb. throwback pom female to a beautiful 3 1/2 lb. male. she had five extremely healthy pups weighing between 5 and 6 oz. witch charts to 5to six lb. fully grown, and meets standard pom weight expectations..i wouldn't recommend breeding the other way around though, with a small female and large male..it looks like they average each other out weight wise in the puppies, and a large male may produce puppies too big for the smaller female to carry and deliver safely...birthing puppies is risky enough without adding extra worry.
Depending on the size of the dog, I have had a litter as large as 6 puppies but the dog weighs 10lbs - i have also had a litter as small as 2 puppies but from a smaller dog. I have read that the average litter for a pomeranian is 4.
Yes, pomeranian puppies shed hair. Shedding usually occurs during the changing of the seasons.
Chihuahua's have an average litter size of between only 1 and 3 puppies, whilst Pomeranian's have an average litter size of between 2 and 4 puppies. This means that you could expect a Chihuahua cross Pomeranian to have around 2 or 3 puppies.
A Pomeranian will be pregnant for approximately 63 to 65 days. Labor can last in the Pomeranian for up to 20 hours.
Can Pomeranian puppies go in pools or water ?
yes they are they don't lose as much fur
I'm not sure what the largest litter is but ours had a litter of nine.
A chihuahua can not have full poms, they would be part chihuahua.
your nearest papillon pomeranian mix dog breeder or a pet store may have one.
Teacup pomeranian, Teacup maltese.
Yes they can and it's a popular mix! Any breed of dog can breed with another but only certain breeds can make suitable puppies.
