I heard a pop in my ford f 150 and my serp belt is loose battery light came on but still drives just not able to steer. Is this my tension rod that needs to be replaced?

It does sound like your belt tensioner broke inside. Just replace the whole assembly.

30 year old battery?? I have never heard of a battery lasting this long. This has to be a record of some sort. I would contact the battery manufacture as they may want this battery and give you a new one for it. Anyway if the battery will not hold a charge it has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.
You replaced the Battery on your 2000 Chevy Express G1500 w5.7l engine and tried to start it heard a pop and everything went dead - Is there a main fuse or somthing that you can check?
This was caused by a poor connection at the Battery. We disconnected and and reconnected the new battery and everything worked fine.

Never heard of a half battery. I have heard of half battery life, meaning the battery is half charged. The voltage of any battery is the same at half charge as it is at full charge.

It sounds like it is the clutch cable. I have a 94 Nissan Sentra and the clutch cable just broke. I have replaced one on an older Nissan, but it is still difficult for me to do on the 94. It is really hard to get the broken cable out.
