if it is only few days old you should wait at least a week but if you are still not sure call your local vets and they will tell you.
ask the pet shop or person you bought it from and they should be able to help you, that's what i did when i bought mine i just asked if it was male or female and she checked it:)
if the baby is more then 10 days old u can just put it back but if its any younger than that just let the mother take care of it...let her do what shes gotta do.
Well I just got a 2 week old hamster and I bought a bag of hamster food or you can feed it carrot and apple.
NO! you just shouldn't take a baby hamster outside not even a fully grown hamster should go outside.
No, the baby will just show up :(.
yes you can touch the baby hamsters just dont let the mom hamster see you touching them distract the mother by giving it a meaty treat if the mother cacthes you touching her babys then you will not be able to put back baby hamster it will get eaten if you see the mother hamster biting the baby its not biting its just trying to move the baby hamster it cant move the baby by pushing it
Immediately.
Is it that you just bought it? If yes, it might be shocked when it first meet you.
My six baby hamsters (pups) are 16 days old today and this is the first day they started to open their eyes. One has eyes wide open, some just barely open, and one not open yet so it varies by hamster but typically 15-18 days old.
No. It's the same as people. OK, if you bought 1 hamster a few weeks ago, and just had babies...then you bought her pregnant. OR if you bought 2, and they told you that they were both girls, then they were wrong... Most pet stores will buy back the babies for a few dollars per baby once they are weaned. Or you can give them away to friends.
It's not a good idea to return the baby hamster at any point. If it is a male, they will fight. If it is a female, he will mate with her. Hamsters don't really understand family relationships, so they will just mate with any hamster that is in their territory.
It should be fine. Hamsters usually don't bite.
