On the '84's you must remove the steering wheel, steering wheel lock plate, blinker housing, and emergency flashers knob. Then you must remove the lock cylinder retaining "torx" screw. Now the ignition will slide out. All of this requires specialized tools and is best preformed by a qualified service tec like a locksmith or mechanic. Once the ignition lock has been removed there is usually a code stamped on the outside of the lock cylinder. The code is a number-letter combo looking something like this: 1A23 or 12V3
