∙ 10y agoI'm kind of wondering why you want to replace the column? It's a pretty big job, I'd imagine.
Yes, if the car donating the column commes from a similar GM Corp. vehicle, e.g. 1978 to 1988 Pontiac Parisienne to Chevrolet Caprice or Impala. Change the ignition key cylinder from the Chevy to the donated column, and you are in business, since the chassis are identical. This includes Olds Delta 88, and Caddy Seville.

The switch is on the steering column about 18 inches from the floor under the dash. There are 2 screws that hold it on.
It is under the dash near the steering column.
The switch is located on top of the steering column.
It is important to have everything in the steering wheel column in its correct place. A diagram for the 1984 Grand Prix steering wheel column can be found in its maintenance manual.
If you use a GM steering column....many are interchangeable. Depending on the year, a column from an Impala or Chevelle may fit.
You have to replace the entire steering column. It is not loose, the lock is broken on your column height adjuster.
