I would go to Western Dental. They are in many different cities all over the United States. The prices are affordable and the staff is friendly. You don't even need an appointment because they accept walk-ins. Extractions usually cost around $50 per tooth.

What did your dentist do when you had a toothache in Medieval Times?

There were no dentists, as such, during the Middle Ages. People who needed dental care went to surgeons instead. Surgeons were not taught in a medical school, as a physician would have been, but were apprenticed. A toothache might have been treated with herbs. More likely, the tooth would be pulled.

What happens after you get your wisdom teeth pulled an army health clinic?

It has been my finding (Ft. Jackson, S.C.) that most army surgeons and dentists are as well qaualified as any (local, private) oral surgeon. I wouldn't hesitate, regardless of whatever medical or dental concern I had, to have an "Army" medical/dentil practioner perform that which is needed. IMO, only. Regards, Jim.

The Marketplace and Dental Hygienist Training?

If you’re considering a career as a dental hygienist, you should know you’d be getting into one of the fastest-growing careers in today’s job market. Surveys rank dental hygiene in the top 30 occupations in terms of growth, and it is moving up. It’s a well-paid career as well, with the average hygienist making a salary of upwards of $70,000 per year. Most hygienists work for multiple dentists on an hourly rate ranging from around $30 to $40 per hour. Others work in community dental clinics and at university health centers. So, why is this field booming and how does its growth impact the kind of dental hygienist training you’ll need to enter the field? If your grandparents are still with us, ask them what dental care was like, “back in the day.” They’ll tell you most people only went to a dentist when they absolutely had to – like for a toothache that just wouldn’t get better. Dentists back then principally pulled teeth and filled cavities. Orthodontics was in its infancy and a highly expensive endeavor available only to the wealthy. Employer provided dental insurance was a rarity. The concept of preventive dental care was barely getting out of the gate, spurred by fluoridation. Today dental technology has exploded, and modern dentists have a multitude of new tools and techniques available to them. Preventive dental care is now at the forefront of dentistry and literally tens of thousands of people now have dental coverage. Consequently many dentists no longer have the time nor the desire to perform some of the more routine preventive dental procedures, like prophylaxis – teeth cleaning – or periodontal scaling. In ever increasing numbers, they are bringing in dental hygienists to perform these functions. In the near future, as more and more older dentists who prefer to reserve these procedures for themselves retire, the demand for dental hygienists will grow even more. The implications of this trend for dental hygienist training may not be immediately obvious. It’s a “sellers market” for dental hygienist services – meaning the demand for hygienists is greater than the available supply. When the situation was reversed – when the demand for dental hygienists was low, the type of training a potential hygienist had was a bigger factor. Again, “back in the day” if you lived in Illinois and wanted to get into the field, you would get a huge competitive advantage if you got your dental hygienist training at the dental school of the University of Illinois at Chicago, or at Northwestern University. Today, you have a whole new set of options available to you. Many community colleges offer two year associate degree programs in dental hygiene which will prepare you to pass the licensing test and are more than sufficient to compete in today’s job market.

Do need antibiotic for a pulled tooth?

Not necessarily. It depends on your health status and how complicated the extraction is (i.e. surgical extraction of a wisdom tooth). Usually your body is able to heal itself and if you keep your mouth clean and follow the dentists instructions you should not have any complications after an extraction. Can you eat a pop sickle after you get a tooth pulled?

It is not a great idea to eat a popsicle after you get a tooth pulled. Generally, a dentist will recommend at least 30 minutes after having a dental procedure before eating and drinking.

Find feedback on dental work performed at Fierro Dental Clinic Palomas Mexico?

Dental care abroad If you go abroad for dental care: -- Check with the appropriate government agency in the destination country about its national dentistry guidelines. -- Find out what recourse is available if something goes wrong. -- At the dental office, look for infection-control procedures, including instrument sterilization and use of protective gloves, mask and eyewear. -- A traveler's guide to dental care is available through the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures at www.osap.org. Source: American Dental Association. Why is dental cheaper in Mexico? - lower operating costs, dentists are not required have malpractice insurance, dentists are less advanced and use less expensive technology and infection control procedures. Dental treatment performed abroad although less expensive, also carries an increased number of associated complications and risks. Travel, Dental Care and Dental Tourism There is a growing phenomena called "Dental Tourism" in which people travel to a destination that offers less expensive dental care. The decision to visit another country for dental care should go beyond simply comparing prices or even evaluating the dentists' expertise. Countries differ in their standards for infection control and safety. The use of fresh gloves, sterile instruments and safe water are not standard practice in all countries. Without these precautions, patients could be infected with diseases such as hepatitis B. Before considering such trips, it is important to be prepared by using information such as that contained in OSAP's Traveler's Guide. Additional information may be obtained at www.ada.org, www.iamat.org and www.adse.co.uk. I'm in the process of getting implants at fierro. The facility is nice and profesional. I'm having two implants put in and it's costing me about $2500. I had my two teeth pulled and the metal mounts screwed into my jaw in one visit (about an hour). Two more visits and I'm done. I'd say it's worth it.
