There are many examples of this in history. The Mormons were pushed out of New York where they originated, and wound up in Utah. Puritans were pushed out of England and came to America. Jews were largely exterminated in Europe during the 1940's but the surviving Jews were effectively pushed out, and moved to Israel. Of course, even now the Muslims of the Middle East want to push the Jews out of Israel as well. But the Jews are resisting, so far.
