I own 94 ford explorer it wont start it cranks but wont start you have to wait 30 to 40 min lately its been longer its been doing this for about a year replaced fuel filter dont think it's fuel pump?

common problem is the ignition module or coil pack, there were several problems like this reported and changing the coil pack fixed these problems

Have you replaced your air filter lately? If not, try that, reset the computer by unplugging the battery and see if it clears the code.

NO, if you smell gas you have a gas leak. The fuel filter should be replaced every 36,000 miles. Replace the fuel filter and search for the leak.

This could be several problems....but most likely it's a weak fuel pump or the fuel filter needs to be replaced. Have you replaced it lately? If not, try that first. It's cheap and easy. You can also have the fuel pressure tested after you change the filter to make sure it's within specs.

Sometimes a tune up can stop this kind of thing in a vehicle. New plugs and plug wires, fuel filter and air filter should do it. PVC valve if needed.

Have you checked the tranmission fluid lately? Have you had the filter and fluid changed lately?

have you checked your FUEL FILTER lately? Or the fuel pump may be going out. Can you describe it if feels like it is NOT getting fuel? Or is it stumbling like it is getting too much fuel? Does it idle in Park, Drive, Reverse? The more info you can post the better answer or leads you will get to solving your problem.
