I received my cna certificate in 1985 I would like to return to cna work i haven't been active i know my license has lapsed do i have to start all over What do i need to do?

Unfortunately you will have to start all over again. Many hospitals and nursing homes offer the classes for free. However you sign a contract to remain with the company for a specified time. It's a good option is money is an issue and you don't mind to stay at their facility for a year or two. On the plus side once you get your foot in the door you can advance your education (LPN or RN) and the company will pay. Of course with a contract. ---------Good Luck

Birth Certificate usually works. Most places are going to want a government issued photo ID. If you don't have a driver's license, you can get an ID through the same office. Don't rush into things. The probability of not making it gets much higher if you get married young. It can really screw up your life.

I would go get it changed asap. As long as that little yellow strip is at the top of your license you have to follow all the rules still, doesn't matter how long you've had it for.

The Law states that if your license is suspended or revoked you can not opperate it however, ifyou have never been issued a license and your over 16 you can. If your license is no longer suspended and you havent had it reinstated i believe you can opperate a 49 c.c.
