Why won't a 1991 silhouette keep a charge?
I'm having the same problem with a 94' Silhouette. I was told that there's a wire from the alternator to the starter that a fusable link blows,and this wire needs replaced. Does anyone on here know if it's so ? Might fix both these problems.

Check your alternator and your connections form the battery to the Starter. You may just have a bad connection If that does not work, your solenoid on your starter has gone bad, a new solenoid or starter may be needed. Check the start switch on the clutch pedal if so equiped.

Can be a defective ignition switch which I suspect is your problem. Not the tumbler you insert the key into but the ignition switch located down under the dash behind the steering column. Can also be a loose or corroded battery cable, or the connections at the starter. There is a starter solenoid that can be bad but it is built into the starter which you replaced.
