That answer is COMPLETELY dependent upon several variables. First, how much experience do you have taking benzodiazepines? If you have taken drugs in this class of medication regularly for any length of time you will have begun to develop some degree of tolerance and the medication will have less effect. Second, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Any psychotropic drug that must be ingested is distributed somatically and the larger the body the more it takes to have the same effect. Third, have you eaten recently? If you have the drug will find its way into your system more slowly. Fourth, the effects will last different lengths of time depending on how effective your liver is at metabolizing it and your kidneys are at excreting it.

There is no actual answer to your question.

There are other variables that will affect the drug's rate of efficacy and how long you will be affected by it like if you take any other medications or not or if you drink (which you should NEVER do with benzodiazepines).

What is a normal answer to this question for one person will not be a normal answer for another. I'm sorry I can't be of more help but you need to know that anyone who tries to answer your question here doesn't have enough information to do so and could be misleading you (unintentionally or intentionally).

Will taking lorazepam change the effects of Adderall?

Well Adderall is a CNS stimulant, which is what gives you the speedy feeling. Lorazepam(Ativan) is a CNS depressant. It calms you down. Lorazepam's a downer and adderall is an uper. So if you take the two together, you won't get the adderalls full effect.

Is alprozopam the same thing as lorazepam?

No. Alprazolam, better known by the brand name Xanax, is a different drug than lorazepam, better known by the brand name Ativan. Both drugs are related and classified as benzodiazepines. Lorazepam is commonly used for anxiety, acute treatment in certain medical emergencies (eg., amphetamine intoxication, seizure), among other things. Unlike lorazepam and most benzodiazepines alprazolam is ONLY approved for psychiatric disorders. Alprazolam is also once a a handful of drugs approved to treat panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, a specific type of anxiety. Both lorazepam and alprazolam (and oxazepam) are approved to treat anxiety associated with depression however only alprazolam has been shown to have unique antidepressant effects of its own. In New Zealand alprazolam is actually approved to treat depression without anxiety.

Can you mix hydrocodone and hydroxyzine?

As a long time user of Hydrocodone and being experienced with lorazepam, in fact having taken them both at the same time, I would suggest taking the Hydro's first and then later if you need help getting to sleep take the Lorazapam. If you take them both the Lorazapam just makes you tired and cancels out much of the effect of the Hydro's... If I even wanted to feel the reaction from the Hydro's I've found I have to take twice as much as normal when on Lorazapam and it still isn't as pleasent. Don't waste perfectly good hydro's mixing them with a downer.

Can you take together Clonazepam and Lorazepam?

Clonazepam (Klonopin) and lorazepam (Ativan) are medications in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. They are usually used to treat anxiety attacks, panic attacks, to relax patients or to induce sleep in some cases of insomnia. Taking both drugs together can have a additive effect and make you considerably drowsy, lethargic, and/or knock you out depending on the dose of the drugs and your sensitivity to the agents. It may be dangerous to take both together if you have certain medication conditions so it is always a good idea to ask your pharmacist before taking these medications.

Is it safe to take Benadryl with Lorazepam?

It highly depends on the dosage. Taking the recommended therapeutic dose of each drug is safe. Both drugs have a sedating effect, although usually only with high doses of Benadryl, so it may increase the level of sedation.

Can you take ibuprofen if you take 0.5 mg of lorazepam?

Well, I just did. I'll let you know if I survive. (Not a joke). In all likelihood, low doses of both should be okay. Ibuprofen is a pain reliever and reduces inflammation. Pain relieves are not good to take with benzodiazepams because the benzo is going to suppress nervous system activity while the pain reliever will intensify the effect. Too much of an NSAID like ibuprofen can cause reduced nervous system reaction as well. Combined with Ativan (lorazepam), too much can make you fall asleep and way too much may stop nervous system functions, like your heart... Low doses of both though, (200 mg of ibuprofen with 1 mg of lorazepam) will be fine... however, you shouldn't really need to take both. Take a different pain med for pain, not an NSAID. Tylenol might be better, but I'm not a doctor. There are likely side effects or consequences for everything. General rule of thumb - unless told by a doctor - don't mix medications too much, even over the counter ones with prescription meds.

Is phenabarbatol used by paramedics?

No, phenobarbital is a barbiturate, which are not really used by anyone. Paramedics and other medical professions use benzodiazepines now which do the same things with less of a side effect. Benzodiazepines are muscle relaxers used mainly to stop seizures, but also used to help pt with anxiety. The three main benzo used are Valium (diazepam) Ativan (lorazepam) and Versed (midazolam).

Are side effects good thing with medications?

On the contrary, side effects are undesirable. A good effect is the intended effect, not a side effect. It is the unintended, bad effects that are considered to be side effects.
