my 1988 4ws Honda prelude idles low at 600 rpm

Install a vacuum gauge to a manifold source of vacuum (below throttle plates). With engine thoroughly warmed up and using a tachometer, turn engine idle speed adjustment screw down to 600 rpm. Start with one side idle air/fuel adjustment screw, turn it in slowly and watch the vacuum gauge. When the engine vacuum reading starts to drop, stop, then back out the screw until the engine just reaches its highest vacuum reading. Readjust engine idle speed to 600 rpm. Do this to the other side idle air/fuel adjustment screw then go back and do the first one again. After several times each you should be right on. Go back to the engine idle speed adjustment screw and set the rpm to factory specs.
