Simple chemistry. Gasoline consist of long chains of carbon surrounded by hydrogen atoms. The products of combustion are generally CO2 and H2O where the Oxygen comes from the atmosphere. The atomic weight of Carbon is 12 and the Oxygen is 16 and Hydrogen is 1. You don't have to know the exact chemistry of gasoline to know that every Carbon(12) atom in gasoline gets grabbed onto by two Oxygen(16) atoms. So you get roughly 3X the weight of CO2. Additional note: Many dirigibles balanced off the fuel they burned by collecting the water from the engine exhaust to use as ballast. There is much more weight of water that comes from combustion than the weight of the burned fuel. Before this dirigibles needed sand as ballast.

It takes about 2.14 gallons of crude oil to produce one gallon of gasoline.
That really depends what gas you are talking about. For example, air is a gas, and you can get it for free.
There is more energy in one gallon of diesel than one gallon of gasoline. To elaborate, the word "petrol" is defined in different ways in different places..... but if you have two internal combustion engines of the same displacement the diesel will produce more power than the gasoline engine, especially in 'torque' measurement
It takes about 474,512.8 barrels of oil to produce 9,253,000 gallons of gasoline.19.5 gallons of gasoline for each 42-gallon barrel of oil
It takes about 2.1 gallons of crude oil to produce one gallon of gasoline.
1 gallon equals 1 gallon of gasoline.
About 19.6 gallons of gasoline is produced from each 42-gallon barrel of crude oil.
This question can be answered in three ways. It takes 1851 gallons of water to refine a barrel of crude oil. One barrel of crude oil produces 19 gallons of gasoline and 10 gallons of diesel fuel, in this respect it takes 97 gallons of water to produce a gallon of gasoline. If you combine gasoline and diesel, it takes 63 gallons of water to produce a gallon of "fuel." A total of 42 gallons of petroleum products are produced from a barrel of crude oil, in this respect it takes 44 gallons of water to produce each gallon.
there is no tax on gasoline
