According to nctpregnancyandbabycare.com, "Scan technicians estimate the length of the pregnancy by measuring the embryo and comparing these results with a chart of standard sizes/gestations. The earlier the scan is performed, the more accurate these comparisons. Even so, scan 'dates' are only accurate to within five days. A scan performed later than 20-24 weeks cannot accurately assess gestation." == In addition 2 different techs even on the same day can get 2 different sets of results, it can vary because of their techniques or because of the position the baby is in. If you have to go for numerous scans & want consistancy, ask for the same tech every time you go. It also depends on the age of the machine, they can be quite finicky...the newer ones do all the figuring for the techs all they have to do is input the data they are receiving.
When you do the ultrasound they see it.
You go to the doctor and have a ultrasound.
Hope this was helpful Im not sure either but i had an pelvic ultrasound to check on my endometriosis and report says that i have septated cyst and an exophytic cyst so that's different to liver or kidneys
Yes pregnancy hormones rise befor the sono can see anything. It can be hard to see a baby the size of a pea.
Im living proof! I had a miscarriage on march25th and found out I was pregnant on april19th.. I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant confirmed by ultrasound today:) 5/2/2011
i had that too, Im currently 6 weeks pregnant and don't have an ultrasound for another 2 weeks
That happens sometimes. As the pregnancy progresses, the clincial picture will become clearer.
hi Im also 7 weeks and 3 days DUE date is about in JULY 1
If you are not pregnant then no you cannot be pregnant.
Can a ultrasound be accurate if its saying im now due 3 weeks later then they determined?
It wont show on an upper abdominal ultrasound. Most times you have to have an internal ultrasound to determine early pregnancy.
