Undo the chrome ring at the front of the ignition, the ignition switch assembly can then be removed from the back of the dash. Unplug the lead in the back remove the ignition switch & throw it in the bin. You could try drilling the barrel out, it would probably be best to buy a complete new assembly, you wont get the old barrel out without a key. You will also need new door locks.

After you have that out of the way, you will see a small button on the housing of the switch mechanism itself. Then unscrew the switch bezel, pull the switch housing back, so that it clears the dash, unplug that big wire connector from the side of the switch, and remove the switch entirely. To install the new switch, you just do what you just did, except do it backwards.

Remove the knob with a small Allen key. Underneath looks like 2 flat screwdriver slots intersecting, almost like a Phillips head, with the shaft for the knob in the middle. I find it easiest to remove with needlenose pliers. Just unscrew and the switch will come out.
