No. To practice as a counsellor you should progress and complete a Diploma in Counselling. Choose your course carefully .. there are many out there but you should be aware tht it need to meet certain standards. It should ideally consist of three years study (part-time) and should include a clinically supervised training placement (in years 2 & 3) where you engage with clients. Taught face to face hours should be 450 as well as one to one meetings with your tutors. You will also have to engage in personal therapy, for which the cost of this and your supervision are separate to the course costs. Training to be a counsellor is EXPENSIVE.... so you should be aware of that. It's another reason to choose courses carefully. Check membership requirements of professional bodies to ensure the course will mean you can apply for student then full membership.
