hit the wrong direction on the switch If you are talking about countries where you drive on the right it may be that the corner is very tight and the driver needs to swing out to avoid going on the pavement.
More than likely this is caused by the relays. They are both the same relays and anywhere carries them.
Assuming the turn signals are actually flashing then you most likely have a burned out bulb on the dash.

It is likely that your battery is dead.
The flasher relay is more than likely defective. One flasher controls both the turn signals and the hazard lights. It is located on the driver side, behind dash, mounted above kick panel.

The local loop is the part of the PSTN most likely to still use copper wire and carry analog signals.
If the check engine line is flashing then that means there is a real problem and you should have it looked at, But if the light is on and NOT flashing the it is most likely a problem with the emmisions system and most likely an oxygen sensor.
