Because at the time of Jesus not all the Jews believed he was the King foretold.

This was because Jesus did things that the Jewish religious system called "blasphemous", such as daring to heal people or help in urgent situations on the SABBATH day etc. The Jews were "by-the-book" people and couldn't accept that Jesus did these things against Jewish-sabbath tradition. The Jews didn't understand scripture as well as they would have liked because all of these things were prophesised well before this time, in the books of Daniel, isaiah, eziekial etc. It was very clear that Jesus was indeed the promised Messiah, but the Jewish leaders could not accept this, because it didn't fit in with their pre-concieved ideas.

Jesus said He had come not to "do away" with scripture, but to FULFILL it!

He also said that he was bringing a NEW covanent ot his people.

Messianic Jews are Jews who do accept that Jesus was and is the promised Messiah. There are plenty of messianic Jews today who follow Jesus.

The title "King of the Jews" was a title that the Romans bestowed on Jesus; it did not come from the Jewish Community. As a result, it has no clout among Jews. (For a parallel, one can think about how the Iranian government calls the US Government "the Great Satan", but this has no effect on Americans since it is a foreign term bestowed on them.)

As for why Jews reject the claims that Jesus was the Messiah, which is what some Jews seemed to believe about Jesus (and in doing so became the Early Christian Church), please see this Related Question:

How is Judaism misunderstood throughout the world?

Judaism is a misunderstood religion because they were accused of cruxifing Jesus, the Romans did cruxify Him. The Jewish people in ancient times were waiting for a conquering Messiah. Jesus came spreading love and peace and the Jews rejected Him for that. Judaism today has many new concepts as does the Catholic Church. One must remember that Jesus was a Jew when He died. His followers were not called Christians until people called the people in Antioch Christians

What ideas did the Muslims borrow from the Jew's and Christin's?

Islam, Christianity and Judaism are known as the Abrahimic religions. They all have similar ideas as they have the same God. Islam believes in Jesus and Moses, but ideas were not borrowed. Islam kept religion as it is, whereas Christianity and Judaism changed their religions to suit society, which is why they seem so different to Islam today. The problem with this would be that they are human laws and are therefore, inevitably not going to be perfect.

Who are alive today?

Judaism believes that the age of prophets ended centuries before the time of Jesus. Most Christians accepts that view.Islam believes that Muhammad was the last and final prophet.Mormonism believes that its founder, Joseph Smith, was a prophet, as are the presidents of the Church and all others who have "the testimony of Jesus Christ, for that is the spirit of prophecy." Thomas S. Monson is the current president and therefore, in Mormon belief, a prophet.
