Yes, there can certainly be an issue. US Federal Laws prohibit sexual contact when over seas with anyone under the age of 16. The laws in the country do not apply.
In some states, this would qualify as statutory rape. In other states, this may not be a legal issue. Check your state's statutes for age of consent laws.
Well, it really depends on what state you live in because in some states the age of consent is lower than 18. But if you do live in one of the states that it isn't, then yes you can get into a lot of trouble.
In a few states but they require court consent instead.
Maybe. Depends on the state where they live. In CA he would be in trouble because the age of consent is 18, but in other states the age of consent is 16 and there wouldn't be a problem.
None.
You find all states and laws in the link below.
Yes, as it is illegal in most states and countries he would be comitting a crime such as statutory rape. Best to wait until she has cleared the age of consent.
No. You still need parental consent to get ungerage marrige pregnant or not. Unless you go to one of those states where it's legal to marry without parental consent.
Yes, but only in certain states.
{| |- | The parents could be in trouble as well as the boyfriend. They cannot consent to breaking the law. In almost all states and countries, the legal age of consent is 16. Getting someone younger pregnant is going to be considered a crime, perhaps even statutory rape. |}
No that is Illigal and its nasty how she got Pregnant
If it was legal where you were I don't think you would get in trouble. There could be a small chance because it is illegal where you have a citizenship. If you have any other questions put another question on here. Im a US citizen and so is she. But doesnt the law of whatever country your in apply to situations like this? Im not really sure, which is why im asking. Ive been trying to research for the last 2 weeks, but came up with nothing. We both want to get married, but I know in the states, it wouldn't be possible, with the exception of being pregnant. And even then in the states, I wouldn't know if I would get in trouble for marrying her when she is pregnant, even though she didnt get pregnant in the states. Its very confusing.
