I would check the two power cables in the motherboard or I would check the display. Another thing to do is clear the CMOS on the motherboard, that may fix it. FYI What is "doesn't boot properly" these are answers if you don't see anything on the monitor.

Computer has power supply but won't boot even with windows CD Could this be the display monitor or some other device or modem?

Booting problem in PCFirst of All, when you turn on your PC, please check whether you can hear a single beep sonund or not. If you can't hear the beep sound, then it is the problem of RAM. In this case you would hear continuous beep sound with pause for two seconds. Replace your RAM and boot. If the RAM is OK, then check in the BIOS setup for whether the first boot device has been assigned to CD drive or not. If it is not, then assign first boot as CD drive and restart your system. Because when that has not been assigned to CD drive, then it would try to boot with HDD0 or whatever may be the first boot device and will not boot when there is a problem with your installed version of windows. The final reason might be the failure of the Hard Disk Drive. In this case you have to replace new Hard disk Drive and install windws in that.

What are three hardware components to check or examine if a hard drive does not boot?

Does the PC boot to the Windows desktop with no errors? Is the screen blank? Can you hear a spinning drive or fan or see lights? Has the OS begun to load? Can you hear a single beep during the boot? Is the problem related to reading from the hard drive?

If a computer won't boot to figure out if the problem is related to the hard drive or other vital hardware component what would be the first step?

Post or beep codes. If power supply is cooked, there may not be any beeps at all. Anyway, Power On Self Test (POST) codes are easily found online and the beep sequence will tell you where your problem is. Wrong memory type can cause major problems, so if it is loose or you have added some recently this could be the problem. OR Boot from CD to see if it will boot.

What do you check first if you boot your computer and you see a blanck screen and a single beep?

CMOS or BIOS. If you get nothing except a blank screen and never continues sounds like a graphics card

What are the sounds produced during hardware error in computers?

Usually, a computer will generate what's called a beep code when a hardware error occurs. Beep codes are sets of tones that are different per error. They are also different among computer manufacturers. The most common beep code is a somewhat long, steady, beep one time during boot. This usually indicates a video card problem. If you have a problem with your RAM, there will be long, repeating tones that persist until the power is turned off. Some computer models will even audibly tell you what the hardware problem is.

When you boot the computer there is no beep What is the reason?

Some computers do not make a sound when starting up. If it used to and doesnt now it could be from a recent hardware change/update or from a BIOS/software update. It is not a problem unless your computer wont turn on
