No. A fall from a height of more than 2 or 3 stories could kill a cat (or at least, break its legs), and especially a kitten, unless the cat was lucky enough to fall into some bushes. A fall from a height of 5 floors or more, without a soft landing, would certainly kill a cat.
Cats may land on their feet, but like they say, it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end. When you fall from a significant height, you end up hitting the ground at such a great velocity that the impact is deadly.

work would be done if the book fell from the top of the desk to the floor because there has been some force through which the book fell down and therefore the book got displaced from his initial position . hence the work is done in this situation because it has a force and a displacement which is essential for the work to be done.

It would depend on where they fell in, the time of day and how good a swimmer they were. If you fell in the Thames at Kemble, you'd be lucky to get your shoes wet. If you fell in anywhere else along it's length and couldn't swim, you'd be in trouble.
if your kitten just fell from the 3rd floor of a building, i would check around his/her body and but my hand on places and see if she sounds hurt where you touched her/ him. if they do, i would see a vet to have them put something on it
Fell over means that I tripped or stumbled and landed face down on the floor. The tree fell over sometime during last night's storm.
