He may very do this to make you jealous, but that's a sign of immaturity and the lack of confidence. You have to make a choice if you're a 'game player' or a straight shooter. Game playing is a waste of time and a lot of second guessing which can lead to problems in a relationship. Tell him when he's out with you to treat you with respect and if he can't, then tell him to stop calling you up for a date. If you aren't dating him, but he knows you like him, ignore him! Don't be afraid of standing up for yourself and good guys respect a woman that has the guts to know what she does or doesn't want.
