You should ask him. If you knew he did not want to marry and he tells you now that he still doesn't want to marry, then you knew all along and cannot get upset about it. Some guys say that because they want you to know they will not commit to marraige and it seems to make the girl feel more at ease and comfortable - knowing he won't pop the question any time soon. Some guys say it and actually mean it. If you want committment, then have a serious talk with him.
