Usually they are okay. But they are so small it's sometimes hard to tell if something is wrong with them. If the hamster squeals a lot after it has been dropped, and it didn't before it was dropped.. Then something may be wrong with it. Also if it sort of limps, then there is something wrong with it. If any weird behavior happens after you dropped it that it didn't do before then that's a sign that there may be something wrong with it.

A hamster usually has it's eyes open when running because it needs to see where it is going. However, it depends on its scent of smell more because they have poor eyesight.

Many hamsters look fat to someone who isn't quite familiar with them. He/She's probably alright. Make sure that hamster is running on its wheel, active at night, and drinking/eating properly. If you still think its overweight, check with the vet.
Dont know the age of the hamster but twice now in the past month she will squeal or whimper kinda like a guinea pig. no one or nothing is around her and its confusing why she is doing it. is she ok?
This might happen if your hamster is either- Sick or is on its way to deth i am not 100% sure with the deth part but my hamster is squealing and this is probaly a reason but he has been sick for the past week or so if this is what your hamster is doing go see a vet ASAP if u wanna be helpful and loving to a hamster. Also if your hamster just started doing this still go see a vet thell know what to do. If your hamster is still sad looking get a hamster of the opposite sex see if that works ~they may be lonley and want to be pleased~
