Sale of a house is a matter of comparative desperation like in any other deal.

If the house must be sold soonest a drop of 10% to 15% may bring some response. Again it depends on how realistic the original price was.

Better idea would be to consult property dealers about the recent sales value a similar house fetched.

Again, if one wants to hold on until the right buyer with loads of cash materializes, one has to bet on the market going on an up-swing.

Choose, which is the right strategy for your house.

GOOD LUCK!

When a bond is selling for more than its face value it's selling at a?

If a bond's price is greater than its Face Value, it is said to be "in premium" e.g. if the price is 105 with a FV of only 100. If the market price is below the Face Value, it is said to be "in discount" while should the market price equal the FV, the bond is said to be "at par".

When is price ceiling non-binding?

Binding Versus Non-Binding price ceilingsA price ceiling can be set above or below the free-market equilibrium price. For a price ceiling to be effective, it must differ from the free market price. In the graph at right, the supply and demand curves intersect to determine the free-market quantity and price. The dashed line represents a price ceiling set above the free-market price, called a non-binding price ceiling. In this case, the ceiling has no practical effect. The government has mandated a maximum price, but the market price is established well below that.In contrast, the solid green line is a price ceiling set below the free market price, called a binding price ceiling. In this case, the price ceiling has a measurable impact on the market.

Why the discount bond is not a bargain?

Because the rate of return it is still a function of market influences. Whether a bond is premium or discount is merely a reference of the coupon rate vs the real market interest rate. If the issuer sets their coupon rate below the market rate, it is said to be discounted. Set the coupon rate above the market interest rate and it is said to be premium. An invester pays below face value for a discount bond and above for a premium. In the end, the invester receives a return on their investment that aligns with the real market interest rates. Premium vs Discount is merely a reference point from where you start - you still end up in the same place.

Do you know the best way of how to buy a foreclosed home?

The first step in buying a foreclosed property is to get a very good realtor. A good realtor knows the market and he knows houses. He will work to see if this property is worth or efforts and if it is worth the asking prices. A house should not be bought just because of the price tag being "below the market value". The realtor will walk you throught the whole process.
