How many kg in one ton of corn?

A bushel is a measure of volume, not weight. It is used as a measure of the volume of dry commodities (like wheat), not liquids. So the weight of a bushel of something in kilograms depends on what that thing is. For example, a bushel of wheat weighs about 27kg but a bushel of barley only weighs 21kg and this varies depending of the moisture content.

What is the formula to figure cubic feet in to bushels?

A bushel is a measure of dry volume, that is the volume of a non-liquid substance. It is used particularly in relation to grain commodities (Oats, Barley, Wheat, etc). As the bushel is a specified volume and each grain has a certain density, the actual weight varies between the grains; however, the weight of a bushel of each grain has been standardised (and legislated) for use in the commodity markets, for example one bushel of: Barley - 48 lb, Wheat - 60 lb. But note, that different legislators can define different weights for the same commodity, eg in USA a bushel of Oats is 32 lb, but in Canada it is 34 lb.

How many bushels of wheat equals one ton in Australia?

The Imperial bushel is roughly 3% larger than the American bushel. In the United States there are 36 to 37 bushels per ton of wheat, depending on moisture content, variety, and other factors. So in Australia, there would be 3% fewer bushels, since the bushels are larger. That still works out to about 36 bushels per long ton.

How are Futures useful to an Investor?

My opinion is that they're not. Millions of people have tried speculating in the commodities market and gotten taken. Two reasons exist for this. First of course is the fact commodities change price all the time. And second is the reality of a futures contract: by entering into one, you guarantee you will buy whatever it is the contract says you will, on the date it says on the form. So you have a July wheat futures contract that's marked for 600 cents per bushel, wheat is selling for 500 cents per bushel, the bakers and millers know you have nowhere in your house to store 150 tons of wheat, and it's June. "Well gee Mr. Speculator, too bad about the price of wheat, I'll take that contract off your hands for...oh, 485 cents per bushel." You of course still need to pay the man with the five truckloads of wheat 600 cents per bushel. Options contracts, by comparison, have a LOT of uses to an investor. You can use them to stop losses or lock in gains. You can buy stock cheap with them.
