Virtual memory, which is much less efficient than physical memory (RAM).
We need a question here, not a lecture.
That program is called the Operating System.
When the allocation of memory to the program is done on need, during the execution of a program, it is called as the dynamic memory allocation. Memory is allocated from a free memory pool called as heap. The only way to access this dynamically allocated memory is through pointers. Dynamically allocated memory can be freed at run time and again added to heap.
Operating System's kernel
it is called an operating system(OS) like windows, Linux , mac
Operating System.
A microprocessor runs and internal program called an operating system. For hardware functions such as input and output and memory allocation, the operating system acts as an intermediary between programs and the computer hardware.
Program status word or PSW
Most definitely, this is called booting. In the old days (of mainframes), it was called IPL (for Initial Program Load).
Multitasking.
The operating system on my computers is Ubuntu, and I use a program called RecordMyDesktop.
Well its called how the f ik.
The first simple "operating system" was a program called IBSYS that IBM released for the IBM 7090 transistorized computer in 1960. IBSYS was derived from a program IBM's customer General Motors had written for their IBM 701 and IBM 704 computers and contributed to the IBM computer users group SHARE. SHARE had rewritten General Motor's original program, calling it SHARE Operating System for the IBM 704 and IBM 709 which was the version adapted by IBM to make IBSYS. IBSYS was not like modern operating systems however and would now be called a batch monitor program..
