Since The Bible commands us to "abstain from blood" accepting blood fractions is left up to the conscience of the individual witness.
Some are OK with fractions, considering them no longer blood. Others refuse them also.
ANSWER FROM ONE OF Jehovah's Witnesses...
As we know and can see from the Book of ACTS 15:28-29 we are to abstain from Blood. Now to abstain means to stop doing, not to do some thing at all. With this in mind I follow this law to the letter, I do not accept whole Blood, any of the fraction parts that you can get from it, any medication that is derived from or contains any Blood or Blood product.
They believe they are an effective way of recording visual images. There is no Jehovah's Witnesses mandate that forbids taking or appearing in photos.
If you wish to do so and it is not taking place in a Kingdom Hall (official meeting place of Jehovah's Witnesses) then I would think it would be ok.
Yes Jehovah'switnesses don't believe in blood transfusions or taking blood products so you might see a tag in the hospital so they will know not to administer those things to that person
The group is know as "Jehovah's Witnesses". They believe that receiving blood transfusions are the same as drinking blood, which is stickily forbidden in the old testament law and repeated in the new testament book of Acts where Gentile believers were to "they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication." The problem comes down to whither or not transfusions are drinking blood or not.
Jehovah's Witnesses have often had their rights violated by various Governments or their various entities. Jehovah's Witnesses have appealed to the Court Systems to protect their rights; even taking matters to the Supreme Court; to the United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC); and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Of the 49 cases involving Jehovah's Witnesses that have been heard by the ECHR, we have won all except 2 cases. But then in 2011, one of the cases we lost, was overturned by it's Grand Chamber of 17 judges; with a vote of 16 to 1 in favor of Jehovah's Witnesses. All of the cases brought before such legal entities by Jehovah's Witnesses have helped refine and establish the human and legal rights of all peoples. This is a contribution to the welfare of all earth's citizens.
This information is completely false. Jehovah's Witnesses have always maintened strict neutrality and it's literature has consistently refrained from taking sides in any politial or military matters.
Jehovah's Witnesses can stay out how ever long they want. Personally I have been out till the 'Wee hours of the morning'. Of course Jehovah's Witnesses do believe in taking care of our bodies by getting good rest, what times we go to bed or are in the house simply don't have anything to do with our worship to Jehovah God. We are not banned to do anything. We can technically do whatever we want. But we choose to do good things be cause we want to please God. But when it comes to something like this it really doesn't matter what we do. Different households have different limitations for their families.
The reason is that becoming one of Jehovah's Witnesses is not simply joining others in a religion, though it is that as well. It is the sign of entering a relationship with Jehovah God, the God of the Bible. In fact, no one can become baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses unless they have declared to the elders of their congregation that they have dedicated their lives to Jehovah God. For us, baptism is only a symbol of this dedication to God. So for someone to say later, either verbally or by letter, that he no longer wants to be considered to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses, we consider it to be a betrayal of Jehovah God, a disloyalty to him as a person. We Witnesses, who are loyal to him, and believe that he is using Jehovah's Witnesses exclusively as his people today, consider this betrayal of our God just as serious as any sin for which one can get disfellowshipped. Those who have disassociated themselves don't always understand this and think that they should be respected by us for simply changing their minds, but they forget how attached we are to Jehovah and how much faith we have in him. For me personally, a person who disassociates himself is sinning even more than if he committed premarital or extramarital sex, or began smoking, or taking drugs for pleasure. He is rejecting my faith, after having believed it for a time. The Bible speaks of such ones this way: "They went out from us, but they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us. But they went out that it might be shown up that not all are of our sort." "-1 John 2:19. Jehovah's Witnesses are not simply a political party, a social club or a family tradition. We are an association of Christians dedicated to Jehovah God, the Father of Jesus Christ, and we view that attachment to him as sacred, no matter who renounces it.
The District Convention will be held at Queen´s Park Oval, Tragarete Toad, Port of Spain September 3, 2010.
(John 17:3) This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. Ask Jehovah's Witnesses in your area.
No, nor Merry Christmas or any other greeting or well wish associated with any 'worldly' celebration. This would be viewed as taking part.
Jehovah's Witnesses are not a denomination, but a restoration of first century Christianity. A denomination springs from an already existing religion. After the death of the apostles denominations began to appear. As disagreement arose within one denomination another would spring from that one. Jehovah's Witnesses observed that much of what the churches were teaching could not be found in the Bible, so they formed a Bible study group, with Charles Russell taking they lead. They would pick a topic, study everything they could about it, and then discuss this until they reached a conclusion. The majority of what the original Bible Students discerned is what modern Witnesses of Jehovah still teach: Hell is the common grave, the soul is not immortal, no eternal torture, no trinity, not all good people go to heaven, and so on. So by this means they restored Christianity as taught by Jesus and the apostles, and did not spring from the teachings of an existing religion. ============== From Ronald R. Day: The above is the answer as often given by Jehovah' Witnesses. Charles Taze Russell, himself, did not believe in an organization such as the Jehovah's Witnesses, and actively preached against having any human central authority. The idea of a "Jehovah's visible organization" with a central human authority came from Joseph Rutherford and his close associates. Rutherford, therefore, rejected some of the core teachings of the Bible Students concerning the ransom, second death, church organization, and prophecy; as a result, by 1928, well over 75% of the Bible Students had rejected Rutherford's "Jehovah's visible organization" dogma, and the Bible Students still exist today totally separate from the Jehovah's Witnesses.
