If bones of extinct reptiles from millions of years ago were ever discovered after the Bible was written what would be the religious explanation?

That has already happened. The Bible was written approximately between 1445 B.C. and the early 90's A.D. so **all** bones of extinct reptiles that we know of were discovered after the Bible was written. And new and fascinating discoveries are made everywhere all the time.
Since the Bible is primarily not a science textbook, we would expect many things not to be mentioned there, either things in the created world or in human technology, or in history where it is outside the Bible times or where it is not connected with Bible events. As mentioned above, this is not surprising.
According to the Bible, there was a worldwide catastrophe in which most of the sedimentary rock layers were deposited, many containing fossils of creatures which perished in that flood. This is in one sense a religious explanation, but it also happens to correspond to reality.
