The child will have Dual Citizenship in Canada and America. It depends on why the couple was in Germany. If he was stationed there for military reasons, the child will have no type of German citizenship.

If a child is born in US and Father is Canadian and Mother is American - can the child be registered as a Canadian If so how?

The kid is an American,EH!Child born to Canadian mother and American father is a North American. Being born in the USA means child is a citizen of the USA. Birth certificate,if filed, will state personal identification information. Birth registration should state time and place of birth. lets clarify this one.. If the child is born in the US to a Canadian mother and American Father, then the baby is initially American, seeing as it's born in the US. However, Canadian citizenship CAN be obtained seeing as the mother is American. Visit Immigration Canada's website or call your closest consular office for more information on the process.

Child is born in Canada to an American father and Canadian mother Can child have dual citizenship?

I am a Canadian born person. My mother is from the US and my father is Canadian. However, my mother became a Canadian citizen months before I was born. I am told that I have citizenship in both countries but I'm not sure what all the rules and regulations involved with that are. If you are in a position where you need to find out for any reason such as moving to another country or such, I advise talking with a lawyer about it because every person's situation is different and it can affect the laws. My guess is your child already has duel citizenship-you don't have to apply for it.
