If im taking a 21 day birth control and I am taking the packs back to back which means im skipping the 7 days off does that affect the contraceptive protection?

No, you're still protected against unintended pregnancy if you skip your week break.

As long as you're taking your Birth Control correctly you remain protected throughout, with or without your week break - although it's best for your health not to skip your withdrawal bleed too often. If concerned you can use a back-up method such as condoms to make absolutely sure your chances of pregnancy are low, obviously condoms also offer STI/STD protection too.
