I would suspect you are talking about a gasoline engine and if so than yes if the coil is bad you will not get a spark. But that is not the only reason why you may not have spark. Pull the coil wire off and pull the insulation back on the end of the wire, stick a screwdriver into the coil where the wire should go, then hold the wire about an 1/8 away from the metal part of the screwdriver and have someone try to start the engine if the coil is good it should arc between the screwdriver and the wire. Be careful to only hold the insulation on the wire and the nonmetalic handle on the screwdriver, a coil can give off up 100,000 volts, it won't kill you but it hurts like hell.
Could be a bad ignition coil (if coil on plug equipped). Could be a bad spark plug or wire
my chev aveo cant get a spark to the coil. What could be the problem?
Assuming you mean no spark at the spark plugs; check for spark at the coil - if you have spark, then remove the distributor cap and check the rotor and contacts for corrosion. If you don't have spark at the coil, then either the coil is bad or you have a broken wire in the system. (Coils seldom go bad but there is always that possibility). Hope this helps.
Engine misfire detected, cylinder number 2. Could be spark plug, ignition coil, ecm, or a loose wire. but more likely its the ignition coil usually runs about 70 bucks.
It means the coil or the spark plug is dead.
Do you mean you have no spark?? if so, start with looking at the coil packs usually these are the main reason for no spark, if your coil packs are good then work your way backwards with the electrical system. posible ecu fault
What do you mean by the car is still not running right? How was the car acting before you replaced the coil? Was it missing? Stalling? Shaking? If the engine is idling (even if rough idling) and not cutting off, I don't think the problem lies with the fuel pump. It could be the throttle position sensor, a disconnected vacuum line, bad spark plugs, faulty spark plug wires, or another of several factors. It might be wise to have the diagnostics system scanned for trouble codes so you can get a better idea of what is happening.
it could mean he is in a bad mood or distressed with what is happening
what do you mean continuously.when the engine is running yes it pulsates very fast to fire all 8 cylinders even at idle.with a spark indicator on the coil it will appear to be continuos not like an indicator on an individual spark plug which you can see the pulses the coil runs 8 times faster
Did you try checking for Spark, then fuel. When those are bad it wont allow it to start. If you get no spark then check out the Coil, see if theres any voltage going to it, if there is and you get no spark from any plug it might be the coil, or the rotor, for fuel pump, just see if theres any fuel getting into the injectors, find out if that pump is getting fuel. If neither is working, could be the ASD (Auto ShutDown), when that is bad it wont allow juice to get to the coil or pump... By Juice I mean volts. or could be the Fuel Pump Relay... Hope that I have helped.... If it wont crank that's another story.
I would hope not!I guess that you mean no spark at the plugs. Then if so, check the coil pak's.
The chance of something happening.
