There is little difference between LCD TVs and Computer Monitors. There are only two things that are important when choosing an LCD TV to use a computer monitor.
First, make sure the native resolution of the TV is suitable for the computer. Most modern computers can output 16 : 9 format displays, which the TV is likely to be. If the PC doesn't have a widescreen display, a new display card will fix the problem.
Second, make sure the TV has a VGA input if the PC is VGA output. If the computer has a DVI output, then a simple DVI-HDMI adapter cable will connect to the HDMI input of the LCD TV. Note that audio will not be embedded in the signal, so a separate audio input will be needed in addition to the HDMI input. Once again, if the PC doesn't have a DVI output, a new video card can be installed that does have the right output.
Most TVs will scale a computer image to fit the screen if the PC resolution doesn't match the TV's native resolution but you must be aware that the quality of the image will be compromsied, especially small text.
