first, when he was a child, he hated slaves just like his dad. so then they moved to illinois. from kentucky. later on, he became the president and signed the emancipation proclamation. then he freed the slaves. second, he never knew how to give up. Lincoln owned slaves himself and when he freed them wanted to send all blacks to central america because he did not believe whites and blacks could live together
