It's made in the glass should be in your front window
On pass. side front fender.????? On my 2001 Expedition 4x4, it's the little wire strip (looks like a defroster) that runs down the passenger side rear window. This is where I connected my XM Direct Connect FM to.
Of course you can. It is probably a bigger project than you would want though. You may have to remove a fender or at least the plastic fender liner to get to the top of the fender close to the cowl. After drilling a hole in the fender to mount the antenna you will have to make a hole into the passenger compartment to run the wire in to the radio. Lots of opportunities to make a mistake.
The antenna location on a 2000 Ford Expedition is going to vary depending on the type of radio installed. If XM Radio is available, the antenna will be a very small square on the back roof of the vehicle. If the radio is normal, the antenna is located on the side of a rear, driver's side window.
Our antenna is located on the passenger side rear 1/4 glass, looks like the rear window heat strip, the main antenna wire runs the length of the head liner on the passenger side.
Cut the electrical connection or remove the plug behind the radio. Buy a new antenna at Radio Shack. Remove inner fender (plastic) for access to antennna.
Inside the passengers side, rear side window on the Expedition.
remove wheel and remove the plastic liner inside the fender. remove the radio and disconnect the antenna wire. Tape another, 10' long wire to the end of the antenna wire. Unscrew the nut around the antenna from on top. pull the antenna and antenna wire out through the fender. Tape the 10' long wire to the new antenna wire and pull it back through the dash to the radio.
yes. Remove radio/audio system. unplug the antenna connector in back of the radio. leave it disconnected. install new antenna in the location of your choice. Run wiring through the vehicle to the audio system and reinstall radio.
The antenna is integrated into the rear window
basic answer behind the radio or under the fender behind the plastic
The radio antenna is part of the rear defroster in the rear window. I believe the radio antenna is in the slanted far-rear window on the passenger-side.
black piece is glued to the gray piece, 3 screws hold the grey piece to the fender, cord unplugs from bottom
