If someone you love is increasingly depressed over a sociopath boyfriend but won't break it off what is the best way to help?

The only thing you can do is be there for her. If you put too much pressure on her to leave she will just shut you out. Bite your tongue and just let her know you are there for her. I know how hard it is to do nothing, but the more you push the more she will feel she has no choice but to stay with him. Watch for danger signs or signs of abuse. If you see them try to talk to her in a non-judgemental way and let her know she is not alone and she has options. You can check out websites on domestic abuse for more information and help dealing with the situation. They can also help you find local help in your area.
