The United States wouldn't have entered World War II, or would have entered it too late causing an Allied defeat.
The US caught wind of the Zimmerman Telegram, where the Germans tried to make a deal with Mexico for them to go to war with the US to distract the US from the war in Europe. Hitler feared that if the Americans entered the war on the side of the Allies, the central powers would lose. He was right

it was a telegraph telling Mexico to enter the war and that if they won then they would be able to get part of the united states and it got the united states angry and they entered the war!
the Zimmerman note is one of the reasons why the US entered ww1. The German Officer Zimmerman sent a letter to Mexico saying that they should be on the Central Powers side and have a war with the US. That way, the US would be distracted and not interfere with the European war. In exchange, Mexico would get back their land that the US took/won from them. (meaning Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, give or take a state). However, this note was found before it the Mexican official saw it and the US finally lost patience with Germany.
Wilson entered WWI because the German Uboats were destroying Americas ships. Also the Germans sent the Zimmerman letter to Mexico to ask them to join the war. If they won Mexico would receive all the land in America.
The Zimmerman Message was a coded message that was intercepted and decoded by British Intellegence. On January 16, 1917 Author Zimmerman sent a message to the German Ambassador in Washington. The message proposed that Germany and Mexico form an alliance if US entered the first world war. It stated that Germany was going to begin unrestircted submarine warfare on February 1, 1917. They wanted to keep US neutral but if it didn't succeed, they wanted an alliance with Mexico so that if US entered the war against Germany they would have the Mexicans to their south to face as well. The incentive for Mexico was that they would reclaim territory in New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona. Mexico declined the offer. On April 2, 1917 Woodrow Wilson asked Congress for a decloration of war and declared War on Germany

They wanted to drag the United States into a war with Mexico that would prevent it from entering World War I.
