The most common cause is a bad wheel sensor
if the abs light is on, this means that there is a problem in the anti locking brake system
the brakes will work but at some time they will let you down.take it and get it fixed before ya kill someone
the lights are there for a reason. lights on dash were nicknamed idiot lights
they are put there so idiots get the problem fixed

In my case the ABS light came and stayed on and the first ABS fuse that I
checked was not installed all the way ( still suspicious of how that could have
happened )

It can be many things. Can be the ABS wheel sensors or something more serious. Your normal brakes will still work but your Anti-Lock brakes may not function.
